A word from Kyle: The Map

Kyle’s dad drives a Nissan Armada that has a drop down DVD player in. Kyle rather enjoys the ability to watch movies while driving around with his dad and has told me on occasion that I should get one. Well seeing that I am driving a ‘04 Tahoe that has too many issues to talk about, it is a low priority on my “gotta get” list.

One thing that is on my “gotta get” list was the speedometer fixed. Ever since the Willy Wonka incident it has not worked. This is not convenient considering that I drive a section of I15 that is under construction and heavily patrolled on a daily basis.

After a check with the dealership I discovered that the speedometer failure is apparently a common problem in Tahoe’s around this year, there is even a recall on the part I need… BONUS! So I took it in and low and behold I am a “few” thousand miles over the approved amount for the recall. That blows. To replace the part it will be around 360-something dollars… wow really, that sucks!

Option # 2, get a GPS device that will hang in the window and tell me how fast I am going, and bonus if I get lost I can use it for what it is intended for.

So that is the back story, now I have a Garmin GPS hanging in my window. After explaining to the boys that is was not a movie, that the cartoon was not going to start, because it was a map, it tells me how fast I am going and how to get there; they finally stopped asking about the new device hanging in the window.

After a week of listening to the little voice (I have chosen the British male voice, he sounds like the talking mirror in Shrek) Kyle pipes in as we are turning into his daycare and says “I don’t like how he says stuff!” “What stuff Kyle?” “He just called this kind-er-land, that’s wrong… we go to Kinderland.”

Ok, I agree with him here, it is funny, but the next part made me giggle a little.

I turned off the truck and went to get out when Kyle stopped me and said “Mom, Mom! You forgot to hit pause!”

“On what Kyle?”

“The map.”

September 2010

September 2010

Ok, this is a cruel joke! Regular gas for 0.00 it was a lie! I was at the pump when it changed to this, then it bounced around and landed somewhere just under 2.94. So mean!

Swiss Days in Midway is a blast. It had been several years since I had gone. Alex, my mom and I had a good time wondering around, wishing we had more money... drooling over things we couldn't afford and have no place to stick. Apparently that kind of torture is enjoyable for us.

Oh look, more stuff that looks cool that I can't afford and have no place to put it.

Thanksgiving Point Farm... gotta love it. Why are baby cows so darn cute and big ones are just smelly?

Not sure how these two did not get spit on by this lama...

Duck, Duck....

Batman on his first pony.

Oh remember this post... Cameron with pig tails... still makes me laugh!

Ok.. never EVER over fill a tire on a stroller at the Zoo. The result is a popped tube (and TIRE) and a rented zoo wagon that is a pain in the behind to pull!

Cute little Baby Suri, she makes the zoo trips so much fun!

I can not recall how long it has been since I went to the state or county fair. Now I know why, it's weird. I wanted to go to another Derby, and I talked Tracy into it, who talked Randy into it, who made Kyler go with us. You would not believe some of the stuff we saw...

Deep Fried Chocolate Covered Bacon... on a stick... what the?!

Aliens... on a sick

Randy and Kyler sneaking into the line for the derby... because it was a mile and a half long, and we were next to the gate and there was NO WAY we were going to walk to the end of it. (...on a stick, ok that did not really fit there.)
Ok and Seriously...Only two options come to mind in this scenario: 1. This girl thinking minutes before she left for a Derby... "I just have nothing to wear... OH wait! How about my High School PROM dress!"or #2 That dude totally talked up this date and is NEVER getting a second one.
Oh let the fun begin!

See Becky is having fun.

Oh look, a bunch of fruits.

Had to get a canyon drive in to see the fall colors. This is at Cascade Springs.

Guess who was tired of the walking and wanted to go home..

Guess who didn't want to leave.

Guess who made them... ok not really.

Someday he will be able to reach that fountain and it just won't be as cute as this picture is.

Is that a double chin... ugh, gross.

So thankful to my sister and Shameless Photography. I love the pictures of my kids that we took... ok, she took, I apparently have little to no patience with my own kids, ok, ummm.. ya lets not talk about this shoot, other than they turned out beautiful!

August 2010

August 2010

Time to continue the year 2010 in picture review...

With our pass to the Hogle Zoo we went more than I expected, and our (at least my) favorite thing to do was the Bird show; even though after the first time, this part in the show is not as much of a shock... but it is still fun to watch!

Little guy here just thinks that if you just sit there you will stay on... who needs to hold?

Kyle turned 4... that is a big kid number, just ask him. Apparently at age 4 you are no longer a baby.
For his birthday we had a Froggy Pool Party. It was fun, and chilly. Explain to me how it is that we live in a dessert and it takes till July 4th to get hot, then on August 15th it is chilly.... anyway here is Kyle showing off his frogs that were in the pool.

Cameron had fun playing with Kyles toys.

My BFF and her family came over to play.

Those are her girls Sage and Aspen freezing their buts off in the pool. Oh, they look warm... it's a trick.

I guess I need to teach him to not pick on girls.

Spanish Fork Demolition Derby... so much FUN! My inner red neck comes out at this thing! LOVE it! I got my mom hooked too... who in turn now has her sister (aunt Chris) hooked.

Oh ya! Wooo-hooo!

First day of school for Courtney... she got away before I could get the traditional in front of the house picture... but I caught her as she was walking (with Zack) to school.

Awwhhh... so cute. Becky did her hair that morning. (no I am not talking about her cute little bum.)

Random Party... with a chocolate fountain, and ball pit balls. Apparently a good combination.

The crew.

My point about the ball pit balls... only a bag of 100, we may need more for the next party.

To celebrate so real good FREAKING AWESOME news... like the fact that the HOUSE IS MINE!!! I took all the girls out for a fun afternoon. It started with pedi's that were a gift from a good friend (HE will remain nameless).

Then lunch at Macaroni Grill... yummy.

I think they had a good time.

Everyone had BIG smiles...
