Kyle's Quote of the Day

Kyle caught me off guard on Monday when I arrived at the daycare. He had been with Donovan for the weekend and had been dropped off earlier and was eating breakfast when Cam and I arrived.

Kyle jumped up and ran over to me very excited and I bent down to give him a big hug and tell him I missed him, he replied with "Mom! Wanna see my Woody??"

"Umm... what did you say?"

"My Woody..." as he pulled his pants away from his belly and pointed to his new big boy underwear, sure enough there's Woody, printed all over on his new briefs is Toy Stories Woody and Buzz.

"Wow, how about that bud, you have big boy underwear on!"

"Ya! can I get Hulk now?"

{hmmm.. how would I have reacted to "Wanna see my Hulk?"}

The Year of the Rooster

I have always found Astrology interesting, particularly the Chinese Zodiac. I found this site and I felt the the description of the Rooster is -for the most part- very much like me.

What do you think? Sound like me? I particularly love the area I had to bold.

The Rooster is the strutting peacock of the Chinese Zodiac! These quick thinkers are practical and resourceful, preferring to stick to what is tried and true rather than taking messy, unnecessary risks. Roosters are keenly observant. It's hard to slip anything past a Rooster, since they seem to have eyes in the backs of their heads! This quality can lead others to think the Rooster is psychic, but that's not generally the case; instead, this Sign enjoys a keen attention to detail that makes it a whiz at anything requiring close analysis. Roosters make great lawyers, brain surgeons and accountants, to name a few of this Sign's possible occupations. Above all else, the Rooster is very straightforward and rewards others' honesty in kind.

Roosters aren't shifty or cagey and have no interest in hiding behind a facade. They are the proverbial open book, telling the truth and keeping their word. If you show your hand, the Rooster will respect you for it. This kind of trusting behavior can tempt tricksters to pull a fast one on the Rooster, but that would be a bad move! Remember, this Sign doesn't indulge in flights of fancy and keeps those eyes wide open at all times.

Roosters tend to be perfectionists and expect to be in control, especially over their appearance. Primping and posing for the Rooster can go on forever! Being noticed and admired is an aphrodisiac for Roosters, and they can go a long time on a few kind words. Roosters also adore being out on the town, especially if they're in the company of adoring friends. The Rooster will also be the best-dressed one of the bunch -- style counts with this Sign, regardless of the cost.

Roosters also expect to be in control of their surroundings, including whoever happens to be in those surroundings. Roosters keep an impeccably neat house and expect their lovers, housemates and family members to maintain the same high standards of dress and conduct as they do. This can cause problems with other, more relaxed types who just want to be accepted as is. The Rooster needs the right partner, one who understands this Sign's basically conservative nature. With the right person, the Rooster can be the most loyal, trusting and supportive mate around, one who bends over backward to please its loved ones. Some Signs may just end up feeling hen-pecked, however.

Roosters need to learn to value their heart and soul as much as their good looks. Their excellent people skills and sharp minds are qualities that others will appreciate as much as a pretty face. This Sign would also do well to learn to adopt the philosophy of live and let live; perhaps an appeal to the Rooster's logic -- that it's inefficient to waste time nagging others -- will help this Sign learn to let others be whomever and however they are.

What do you think? Sound like me? I particularly love the area I have in bold- I say I am an open book all the time.

You can see if you think yours is accurate, check out http://sandbox14.clearconceptsllc.com/ and enter your birth date where it says "Your Chinese Personality Profile". Let me know what you are...

Just a little sample... ok... yummy..Maybe a little bit more... Why is Brittany singing "Little Bunny Foo Foo" to Cameron??? "Scooping up the feild mouse and Bonking them on the head" ... now I get it now.

Halloween Spirit

There it goes, can you feel it? It is the Halloween Spirit... that part of you that lets the inner kid out, lets you dress up as whatever you want and eat candy; AND NO ONE THINKS TWICE ABOUT IT!

As we do each year we had our family theme.. after going to Pirate Island for Kyles birthday we decided it was a year for the pirate. Arrg! We decided Cameron looked better as our monkey than a pirate. So we changed his costume, but he looked cute. This is the only picture of him not smiling.

My Halloween festivities started on Friday the 30th. I joined a friend at BYU to witness her cousin and several of his friends run around campus in nothing but their "Super Hero" costumes. They were quite a bit late so we sat and people watched... highly recommend if you have a spare hour to do this next year! We saw a guy dressed completely backwards, walking backwards the entire time... that is dedication to a costume, we saw tetras pieces trying to fit with trashcans, a very unattractive bumble bee outfit, Mario and a few others. The winners were the couple dressed as sharks that would circle random people in the commons area. That hands down was the funniest! Well, until the super hero's showed up... they ran around calling each other by their super hero name and chasing Lex Luther all over. Some people asked them to pose for pictures, one woman actually yelled at them to leave.. and in the end they were chased off campus by Campus Police... or where they just dressed like that?

Many of you know that Halloween is my favorite holiday, my house was a wee bit decked out this year, I have bigger plans for next year.

I love this which.. she is my favorite.

Halloween night was a BLAST! I have not been trick or treating in YEARS! I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures! Kyle was funny, he was not quite sure what to expect. The first house he went to had a bunch of kids so he just stood there till he got his candy, house # 2 was not the same. The door was closed and he was all alone. He ran up the stairs and then turned around and said "what I do?" I told him "Go to the door and say Trick Or Treat", he did exactly that... walked up to the closed door and said "Trick or Treat!" That's when I started laughing and told him he needs to knock and wait for someone to open it... details.
By house #4 he had the routine down and sprinted between houses.
While we were gone Alexis and her friends handed out candy at our house. So no pictures of her, becasue she darted out the door as soon as I arrived home.
The outside of our house was decorated too. The addition to the Halloween stash this year was the Bubble Fogger. Apparently it kept some kids so entertained that they forgot to get candy at the door. Seriously, how cool is a bubble that when it pop's it turns into fog.
The pond was my big project this year. I had the Pirates who don't do anything.. Next year I will have more pirates, I only had out 5 this year.

We had the three ghosts haunting the cul-de-sac I love that I have neighbors that get into Halloween as much as I do.

Brittany was happy with her loot... as were all the kids.

Courtney had a good time out with her friends.
Cameron enjoyed riding along and watching everyone, it did not take long for the cool night air to put him to sleep. Kyle tried to hang on as long as he could. He helped me pass out Halloween candy when we got home and took time to sort through what he had received. But it did not take long for him to crash when the night was near an end.
With that halloween Spirit behind us that means onlyone thing... time to plan for next year!
